I'll be on the waters edge between 5-5:30. I'm hoping for fair winds and following seas.

Just found this forum, and joined. I was planning to go further north in search of WSB, but if there are yellowtail sightings in LJ, I am there.
One tide you forgot to mention was the 2:25 am low. I am going super early to see if a WSB bite can happen. If not, I'll make macks to slow troll for yellows at sunrise, if not, calicos in the kelp as to not be skunked. Definitely not a pro, but I am getting it down. I'll be at the launch at 3:15 am to give it a go. Name's Ben and I'll be in a older yellow Cobra fish'n dive, with a black jeep. By the way, probably the best kayak fishing forum I've seen yet. It's not as bad as you think. I thought the same thing but bucked up and did it last summer for the first time by myself, and it was nothing. There is so much light from La Jolla that you nearly don't need your own light. Just try to have some form of light up head high (can be as simple as a white glow stick on a rod). I use a LED bicycle headlight, cost about $18, and three AAA batteries last over 100 hours. Weather.com shows 3 mph wind from the south at 3 am, so it should be awesome conditions. I'll text ya.
