Crack in kayak

Hi all,

Last saturday, I was prepping my kayak for Sunday's venture and I noticed a small crack (2inches) near the middle hatch lid. My kayak is a Malibu X factor (stone color). I apply goop on the inside/outside and so far it looks like it's holding up. I'm wondering if anyone have experience in repairing these types of small cracks, should I be worry? Is goop good enough?

I'll snap a picture when I get a chance to give you guys a more visual.

Im a do it yourself kinda guy but thats a new malibu. If youre getting stress cracks you may want to take it into andy and have him look it over/fix professionally. For future though always save any scrap plastic shavings from doing mods on your yak. That way if you need to do a patch later, you have the same color material.

my believe is if its on the top of the yak.. its fine!
if its on the bottom of the yak.. i'd push on the crack and jb weld it together.. then apply jb weld on the inside and outside of it as well.

Dude..........no.

If its a stress crack it would be wise to identify the source of the stress. If it spreads to a scupper then its a whole other issue. Jb weld? Hows that better then actually plastic welding the problem with the same material the hull is crafted from? If it works for you, cool. But there is a right way to do things and I like to feel safe floating in 250' water

I have a crack on my Ride 135.
Its on the top at one of the scupper holes by the seat.
After a day of fishing I would have a couple of gallons
of water in the the yak.

As a temp fix I gooped it from the inside as well as the outside.
That was about a year ago and its been bone dry since!!!

That will work until out doesn't. hope your at home on your couch when out doesn't.......
