fish finder

Hummingbird or cuda? I don't wanna spend tons of money, but would like to head down to OEX in the near future and have it installed... Any input greatly appreciated. I'm a bit new to this thing we call an addiction and have been fishing glorietta bay the last few months. I think I'm ready for la jolla and would like to get out and fish it for the spring bite coming up...

For the money you can't beat the hummingbird Pirahna max's. Or I use the 345ci, does a lot for the money. About to upgrade to the 898si though. I just got rid of my Cuda 250, it was an ok system, but did not compare to my hummingbirds

Hummingbird is good FF.

I just don't like the way it connects in the back. Its not a quick disconnect. But again, its real good FF i love mine.

I'm selling my Cuda 350 to help pay for this.

I like the Cuda, and have had HB and they are both great units but I'm wanting to get the one listed above for the color and the top/bottom view setup.

If you're interested in my cuda let me know it's only a year old.

I recently bought and installed this one:
http://www.westmarine.com/buy/produc...ishfinder.html

I liked it better than the Lowrance - the menus were easier, it didn't have the annoying beep each time I pressed a button (probably can turn it off) and the display seemed better. Was able to find rock fish and bait fish, so I was glad with the purchase. Also, no problems with full sun on it.

my friend has the hummingbird piranha max portable FF and he puts the transducer inside of his yak. the cool thin is that the transducer reads directly through the kayak so no holes need to be drilled for the transducer. we tested it out and went to spots where we knew the bottom structure and the FF was accurate.
