Ballast Point is the only thing you will find in the OEX keg.... Shouldnt be a hard switch for a bunch of fishermen to make.

I love Sculpin and Bigeye but there isnt a beer the brew that isnt great.

They just lost me as an occasional customer. I love me some Ballast Point YT, just wish it was more avaiable. If i could get some BP at the same price as a case of Stone @ Costco I'd drive to there store once a week. So whos gunna put the info on a flyer and tape it to the Costco pallet of Stone? Stone Brewery!!

That is a great idea. Maybe we could all hit our local stores and do it at the same time. Kinda like a flashmob....but with purpose!

Shocked!!! When someone orders a pale ale at the Belly-Up, I have always given them Stone because it's local. NEVER again. They'll get Sierra from now on. Stone is our best selling beer, but with the help of the other fishermen bartenders there, we'll put a stop to that.

Just got back from BevMo. I told the beer guy the story about Stone and MLPA and he was really interested and wanted to hear the whole thing. He wanted to hear more about how to land a big fish on a kayak, too. He got me some Ballast Point Big Eye, Calico, and Yellowtail. I'll save the Sculpin for next visit. He handed me a few other beers, too, that he said were great. Also suggested that I have the porter with a nice steak, so I stopped at Costco on the way back for some filet mignons and appetizers. That was fun! Now I gotta get busy drinking and eating.

Too Bad.

I WAS a huge Stone fan. I have spent thousands on their product. Many hundreds at their Bistro, and hundreds more in merchandise. NO MORE.

Email sent. Now I got to find out if AleSmith is also out. Too bad.

Stone is over-hopped and over-hyped anyway.

Its easy to over-hop the shit out of all your beer styles and claim some sort of "You're not worthy" slogan, to cover up the fact that your beers are not that great.

I give my business to Ballast Point, Green Flash, Port Brewing (Pizza Port), and AleSmith.

Luckily I've been on that boycott for a few years now.

Ballast Point is where its at anyway. It doesn't get much better than a Sculpin IPA after a day on the water.

That's so unfortunate, I"m a big lover of hoppy Stone beers, and was going to make their brewery my first stop on my 21st next month. Due to a recent infraction I received, from the life guards in La Jolla for my lack of proper knowledge of the MLPA zone (drifting into the MLPA with a line out), I haven't had the best taste in my mouth for MLPA regulations. I defiantly won't be washing that taste out with a Stone now!
P.s. If anyone on this forum could give me some advice when it comes to fighting this citation I would appreciate it. I recently started ocean fishing, an I know my mistaken knowledge of the zones is no excuse but it sucks getting a ticket making bait..

if you were in the scripps SMCA, coastal pelagic's are legal to take on rod and reel

"Coastal pelagic species means any of the following: northern anchovy (Engraulis mordax), Pacific sardine (Sardinops sagax), Pacific mackerel (Scomber japonicus), jack mackerel (Trachurus symmetricus), and market squid (Loligo opalescens)"

oh....... and F stone brewery
