I've only had the PA for a week and already have hooked more fish than the past year. Personally, i don't really care about timely reports any more. Because i know there is always yellows in La Jolla. And with improved equipment you will hook up more than ever! And with all due respect Aaron, you might want to start thinking about buying a new Kayak and retire that old school yak and buy a nice fishfinder. It makes a huge diffrence trust me! It took me a long time to figure that out because i ain't that smart. With a Hobie, you get to the spot faster with less exhaustion and you spend more time fishing and you can cover a lot more ground. If you are serious about hooking up more, then you may want to make changes in your equiptment. Aaron, let me know if you want to test out my PA - any time. I have no regrets. Yes, I'm also old school but after seeing all the Hobie guys catching all the fish I decided it was time for a change. So with my new Hobie and nice fishfinder as far as I am concerneed - everyone can keep their up-to-date fiish reports! Don't need them becase i'm GONE fishing! |

Thanks, Driftwood.
You're a kind man. Maybe, someday, when I'm working again, as an Electronics Tech, I'll take you up on that offer.

My name is Steve. I have a Hobie, a fishfinder, I am egocentric and I sometimes fish.
This thread got under my skin a little bit. No worries. I'll post this, then be done with it. I'm pretty sure the "share" vs. "don't share" debate has been beaten to death. It has, and will always be the choice of the person that does the catching. What I do have an issue with, is the new breed of guys that think they can tell someone what they are allow to share, and when they are allowed to share it. Not cool IMO. Go start your own website, become the moderator if you really need the power trip. Flaming guys for posting a Report in the Reports section...really? Is that really the best you can find to do with your free time? Yellows in 90 feet in the NW in the middle of August? On a (Gasp!) slow trolled sardine? Geez, don't blow the whistle on that hot bite |

it's the typical transition of this site...
1. dude buys kayak 2. dude lurks this site 3. dude sets up account and posts relevant reports 4. dude starts catching some quality fish 5. dude decides la jolla is 'his/her' fishing hole and jumps down everyone's throat whenever a timely report is posted... I always post relevant stuff and always will because I remember what it was like to be at #1. Tight lines.

Here is the New School 1) Dude Lurks 2) Dude posts a million meaningless posts to bump the post count 3) Dude buys yak 4) Dude makes bunch of meaningless posts (bump the post count) 5) Dude gets the yak wet, in the bay of course! 6) Dude bumps the post count again. Like a mad man this time... 7) Dude finally gets the balls and takes the yak out to the big water. Realizes its not a easy as it looks. 8) Dude hires Josh & catches a big fish. 9) Dude posts up a DH advertisement disguised as a report. 10) Dude chooses 1 of 2 paths 10a) Dude puts in time OTW, has some success on his own, becomes a decent stick. 10b) Dude thinks that he is God's gift to yakking because he has a fishing code group, or even better, Josh on his speed dial. 11) Dude makes sure that no relevant info is ever posted, especially not in the "Kayak Fishing Reports" section. 12) Dude gets beaten by a girl in WCW |

soo...if a 'report' has no relevant info aside from 'look at my big friggin fish that I caught two weeks / month / who knows ago'...is it still a report? Mod, can you set up a bragging board please? I like looking at fish pron as much as the next dude, but to call some of what I see on here 'reports'...hmmm.... oh and bump one on my post count, in 4 more years I might hit 100.

Stevooo:
I love it! Wait, you are poking fun at yourself right? You were beaten by a girl in the WCW...badly right? Your post count annually IS higher than mine right? You are conspicuously lacking in timely reports right? Yep. I love it. Even if it was a matter of the pot calling the kettle black. |

Personally I watch these boards just for the entertaining and quite heated debates.

Although I'm not in WCW right now, I have never been beaten in WCW by a girl. Sorry that you were. Sharon would have beaten me this year though. Saw that coming, that's why I saved my $20... Give 'em hell Sharon Yes my post count is higher than yours. Probably because I knew about the forum a few years before you? Give it time, I have faith you can post as much BS as me. ADD + boredom sucks. I think post count is a horrible number to base anything off of. Most of what I post is bullpoop. For instance, this post. Yes, I am lacking in timely reports. What I post, I do mostly for my own entertainment, plus I need to feed the ego-centric beast that is "Stevooo". (I do peddle a hobie AND I have a fishfinder, and I use Jazz hands OTW) I have a "Fixer-upper" house, a 2 year old daughter who is very busy, and another daughter due in 2 months. Free time, fishing, and fishing reports are lacking big time. I still fish a tiny bit, but not as much as I'd like to... Hope you didn't take my last post too seriously. I meant it purely in jest poking fun @ what I see Not directed @ anyone in particular. Honestly. The other alternative is to skip steps 1-6, take your yak out, hook a yellow, stab it with a knife, lose it, and then endure the wrath of the members of this forum when you tell the story of how you lost it... The Pot calling the Kettle Black? Sure, but I'll be the first to admit, that does sound a bit racist Bump |
