I've been fishing Newells for 30 yrs and still love them for casting, they could use help in the drag department though. Enter the Avet reel...a lever drag that cast really well. Hmmmm....I like the way that sounds!

ive owned both mc and non mc avets, i think the mc works pretty well! the only problem i had was that while fishing on a couple trips, id toss a bait out with the mc rig, decide to change rigs and forget that my other is non mc, then birdnest,. so i sold my mc'd reels and went old school. it may be a nice feature to have, tho it does shorten your casts a bit. but i went with the old "train your thumb" way.
i think there was a picture of a torium in there somewhere? not magged true, but does have spool control if im not mistaken?? though that was funny. |
