how to fill new reels - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

I caught the mac below on a TLD15. I use a $30 spinner combo for regular macs. I like spectra on all my rigs including my sabiki spinner, sometimes I'll take off the sabiki and tie on an 8" weedless slug directly to spectra for calico slaying in the kelp. I fill my conventional reels 3/4 with mono and top with 50lb spectra and 3' of flouro. If I was buying a new reel I would have Squidco fill it but I usually do it myself with a $20 Berkley line winder, before that I used a rag wrapped around my hand for tension, worked fine. When I get a snag I pull from a couple different directions, if that doesn't work then just wrap the spectra around the butt of the reel and pull straight up.
