Valve Regulated Lead Acid Batteries
I don't even know if it'll hold a charge. Just want some feedback on it before I even think about what I'm going to use it for.

I've used these in Aerobatic Aircraft with both harsh and confined Environments with excellent success. IMHO it would be the battery of choice type wise. I don't know anything about that brand.
A VRLA battery (valve-regulated lead–acid battery) more commonly known as a sealed battery is a lead–acid rechargeable battery. Because of their construction, VRLA batteries do not require regular addition of water to the cells, and vent less gas than flooded lead-acid batteries.[1] The reduced venting is an advantage since they can be used in confined or poorly ventilated spaces. |

Don't over think it George. Charge it, hook it up and if it works and your kayak doesn't blow up then it was a good battery.
