Valve Regulated Lead Acid Batteries
Are they safe for kayaks?
I don't even know if it'll hold a charge. Just want some feedback on it before I even think about what I'm going to use it for. http://i997.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1354353534 |

I've used these in Aerobatic Aircraft with both harsh and confined Environments with excellent success. IMHO it would be the battery of choice type wise. I don't know anything about that brand.
A VRLA battery (valve-regulated lead–acid battery) more commonly known as a sealed battery is a lead–acid rechargeable battery. Because of their construction, VRLA batteries do not require regular addition of water to the cells, and vent less gas than flooded lead-acid batteries.[1] The reduced venting is an advantage since they can be used in confined or poorly ventilated spaces. |
Don't over think it George. Charge it, hook it up and if it works and your kayak doesn't blow up then it was a good battery.:D

Just remember, sea water and lead acid batteries=chlorine gas. Don't be sniffin it.

Just get you some LifePo4 cells. Work great and if your car battery ever dies you can jump it with your yak battery =)
