Red tide is a phytoplankton bloom.

The water in LJ was rusty brown on the inside last night. I don't know if its red tide or not though. Last year we also had this tea brown water as the kelp was dying. No biolum last night.

I was working in del mar all day right on the water......very rough seas today and a definite tea color to the water.(rusty) was consistant from the shore for about 1/4 to a 1/2 mile then completely stopped. defined line then all bloom. red tide... i hope not. think it sucks for fishing???? try to scuba in that S%$#^. At night its like a light show....
