red tide question

godspeed619 is up working at Del Mar and saw some dirty reddish brown water about a half mile out today. The only thing we could think was that it may be red tide coming in. Anyone know if this holds water or not? Isn't red tide usually more towards the summer time/ late spring? He tried to send me a pic of the water, but it didnt come out to well.

There's red tide at k58(Baja). Let's hope it doesn't hang around. Saw on some channel where the red tide is the DEAD bodies of the plankton - true?

Red tide is a phytoplankton bloom.

The water in LJ was rusty brown on the inside last night. I don't know if its red tide or not though. Last year we also had this tea brown water as the kelp was dying. No biolum last night.
