Kayak Attire

All right, now that my boat is good-to-go, what should I wear. I mean I know I'm going to get wet, but how dry can I stay with the proper attire? I don't own anything as of now, but most likely I will go to bass pro to check out what they have.

Any suggestions...boots, waders, ect,.

My budget is very limited. I would like to get set up for less than $150.

For this time of year buy breathable waders first.

I just bought some and stayed nice and dry thru the surf.

Mine were $99.

go with breathable year round...Froggs Toggs are good.
for boots, just wear a pair of old sneakers..

i went with waders the only thing i would do differently is get one with a zipper in front..

Here what works the best you dont realy need to waste all this money on cloths that dont last and fall apart.. Go naked you would be surprised at how easy it is to stay dry.. As for cold weather You need to layer up. Start with 2 burgers and fries in the morning and then a large burrito for lunch for dinner extra helping of potatoes and gravy toped with lots of cheese. For between meals lots of sweets. With in a month you would notice the first layer builds up and in two months you would have enough to keep you nice and toasty no matter what the weather is. Just look at our man Frank first he goes and lose all the weight and now he has to buy all those cloths to stay warm... talk about waste

i was gonna suggest waders also. i got some from bass pro. boots were extra. i went with in house brand waders that were waist high. spent less than one bill for both , or there abouts. jacket i went with extrasport . wasnt cheap. well worth it. top quality. extrasports .com. when wearing both properly you will stay completely dry. for most staying dry= alot more comfort on the water. you on the other hand are probably used to the cold chilly waters of san diego. . White River Fly Shop® Breathable Waist-High Stocking-Foot Waders . heres what i use . check em out. most guys use chest high. i opted for waist high . they sell slip on boot to put on top of stocking boot to protect it. worth the extra money to protect the stocking foot. what you were looking at was cool . but you want your feet to stay warm, to prevent heat loss. the suggestion about zipper is always a plus when taking a leak.

pair the waders up with a splash jacket and your PFD. stay away from COTTON.

You need to look at it as layering. Waders, paddle pants/splash jacket or dry suit are great for the outer layer. You just as important if not more important layer is you insulating layer. Check out the SeasonFive gear at OEX. Its a long underwear style layer that in itself is waterproof, windproof and breathable. Wear these under your outer layer and you'll be good.
