classic Noob thread 1st trip to la jolla
i plan on getting there about 6:00 or 6:30 so there is at least some light to work with any advice on not getting stuck at the launch that bit worries me a bit is it just packed sand or is there something under the sand to drive on? Also any other advice on fishing in or near the kelp woudl be appreciated i have been doing swimmies in the bay for a long time now though not sure if i will try to make bait i will probably only have a couple of rods with em to focus on paddling and getting to know the area So if you see a big guy floundering on a cobra fish and dive tomorrow morning paddle over and say hi |

The core of the earth is molten. You can't drive on that. Use the sand.

From the past pics we have seen of those who did get stuck, I'd say stay clear of wet sand. Anyone who I saw was stuck got too close to the wet sand.

Otherwise, get out past the yellow reserve bouys, and get to know the area. That's the best you can do. If you have sonar, that's even better. You will be able to get to know the area based on your depth, and what structure is where/ where the canyon is etc.. Good luck, have fun |
