Planning to head out on my kayak on sunday to target sculpin. Any reccomendations on where to go? La jolla? Jetty in big bay? Mission bay jetty? Never really targeted them so dont really know. Or anybody want to head out with me?

Huh. U have good taste. They r one of the better eating fish. I have caught them in 40 - 60' of water, SD bay. Shelter island, near porpoise/research boats. That's gonna b just north of bait receiver. They like squid and anchovies.
Janine.

Like said above 40-60' I catch more around ballast point, basically any deeper structure but they can also be caught shallow. Anchovies or swimbaits with bright colors and chartreuse or orange lead head.

I'd be interested in joining you. Always up for learning. Haven't tried targeting rockfish or sculpin so if you're ok with a rookie taging along I'm up for it.
