Interesting hand pump bait tank

What do you think about that hand pump bait tank ? ( you will see it half down the video)

That's actully pretty cool. Espcially since you can take the cooler and divide it. 1/2 as a livewell, half as a...well...cooler for your lunch/drinks.

I'm curious how the more fragile bait like sardine will hold up in there though. Those things barely stay alive in my bait tube for more than an hour. I'm sure mac's won't have any problems.

My first bait tank was a 5 gal. bucket. The overflow was made by drilling holes a few inches below the rim. I used a hand held bilge pump and zip tied the hose to the bucket so the end would stay at the bottom. A couple of pumps now and then and the bait would do fine. Spanish mackerel live very well with this type of set-up, greenbacks OK, sardines not so well.

I wish someone would bring back the Thresher Tank.

One of the best bait tanks made.
