What should I do. . .
In august I flipped my kayak on a surf launch and clearly F'd UP the gears.
It's a shimano chronarch that has no business in salt water (but it is what it is.) Are these tough to clean and service on your own or better off having a pro do it? |

probably only cost ya 15-20 bucks to have them do it at the Shimano Service Center in Irvine.

For something like that to happen to a chronarch, if it was mine, I'd have Ken's Custom Reels take care of it. But if Shimano is closer to you, they would be my second choice. If it was a hardier reel, it probably wouldn't be as big of a deal. Just my opinion.

If you are a do it yourself guy look to alan tani
http://alantani.com/index.php?board=9.0 or mikes http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schem...ls.php?album=8 If not you can pay someone, or go to shimano.

Shimano seems to do almost everything for $25. I'd take it to them.

Thanks, I'm sold.
For $25 plus shipping, it'll go to shimano.
Their repair center is 2 miles from where I work. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I can drop off and pick it up (save a little on shipping). http://www.shimano.com/publish/conte..._Services.html |
