Been back at it again for awhile, and today finally paid off. Julie was the victor.

Launch before 6AM, and made an even mix of bait, about 18 each.

After "Riding the storm out" the weather improved greatly. We saw lightening hit the water 3 times, 3 episodes of rain, and each was far worse than the previous.

Pretty beat by now, we started the last efforts towards the launch.
About 11:45 Julie's bit nicely. Fish kelps her quickly. But, she works at it for 30 minutes or more. Up comes the biggest clump of kelp we've experienced. We can't even see the fish, but assume it's in there. Aaron grabs the leader, reaches in, and finds it's mouth. One re-grip later in the gills he pulls up Julie's 25lber.

Our motto pays off, "Never say die".

Fish on ice, to be filleted tomorrow, Hamachi soon after.

So hook the kelp beds, reel it in, THEN pluck the yellow out of it. Why didn't I think of that

Very nice. Glad you were able to get it out of the kelp.

Sometimes it takes nasty weather to bring out the tails. I know you two have showed up but the fish haven't lately. Congrats Julie, now it's Aaron's turn.

Well done yourself, Todd, it was nice morning greeting/meeting you.

We don't know about the yellows being on the chew, yesterday, though.

With yours, ours and Widgeon's that makes 3 for over 20 kayakers. That's the ones posted, anyways, which means there were probably 20 others caught too

What time did you get yours?

What's the deal with the jug that's hanging over the gaff?

...Jorge, what he said...

but, it's initial/primary purpose is to manually fill the bait tanks with seawater before starting our pumps, and drain them. Also used to pass bait between ourselves. In an emergency, with so many people having leaks, it could be used to bail out the hull, with the flexibility of that plastic jug it should do a good job.

BTW, made from a half gallon ammonia plastic bottle, lid kept tightly on, and the bottom cut out. The handle is built in

Julie- Picked up a smaller TY about 0830 and the larger model at 0915. Tried to head in before the lightning but got cut off at the corner. So I went south to avoid it.

As for the tattoo, yes good catch. I had a smaller YT in the bag on top of it
