Homer, AK Halibut and Ling Cod trip

Well went out yesturday out of homer with North Country Charters. Captain Eric was a one man crew and new all the good spots. Started the day bouncing 1# lead head off the bottom for lings. My first fish of the day was a 47lb ling. We worked tht spot till everyone had limited(one a person). After that it was all about the Halibut. Your allowed one halibut over 29" and one under 29". My first Halibut was was one hell of a battle. When it came up the Captain said "I need to get my gun". We got him in the boat, at the dock he was 87lbs. After everyone got a halibut over 29" he took us to another spot and we used light tackle spinners with silver 4oz irons and bounced the bottom. Had our limit in no time. What a great day on the water and a great captain. I'll be eating halibut and ling cod for along time.
