Transducer??
Does the transducer have to touch the bottom of the kayak or does a small gap interfere?

You don't want any air or air bubbles... There are a lot of posts on how to mount the transducer inside your yak. Just do a search.

As long as there is Marine goop between the hull and your duper with no bubbles you should be good but you may want to look into a wet Mount since it is considered a less permanent way to mount inside the hull and you are more then likely going to upgrade kayaks sooner or later. In my opinion a wet Mount performs for consistently as well. Look up wet Mount in the search bar, I'm sure plenty of threads will pop up.

From what you guys are saying and from what I read surfing the web putty seems to be the easiest way to go especially since there aren't to many flat spots on my yak.
Thanks for the advice guys!
