Need Rod advice...
Can someone recommend a Shimano rod that would work well the Shimano Stradic reel? A buddy recommended the Shimano Trevala F XXHeavy but at 5’8 it seems a bit short. I need an overall setup that can handle at least 30lb incase I take it tuna fishing this summer.
Thanks in advance. |

How big is your reel? And what kind of fishing are you doing?

I use a Shimano FX-S80MHB2. It is my "do everything" rod and I use it for everything from Bluegill to Trout Bass to Bonito.
It is also a two-piece so I can literally just pack it and go. It has not failed me so I have a hard time justifying anything more expensive. |

Trevalas or Terez will handle smaller tuna no problem, they don't need to be 5"8 versions though.
