Need Rod advice...

Can someone recommend a Shimano rod that would work well the Shimano Stradic reel? A buddy recommended the Shimano Trevala F XXHeavy but at 5’8 it seems a bit short. I need an overall setup that can handle at least 30lb incase I take it tuna fishing this summer.

Thanks in advance.

How big is your reel? And what kind of fishing are you doing?

I use a Shimano FX-S80MHB2. It is my "do everything" rod and I use it for everything from Bluegill to Trout Bass to Bonito. :reel:

It is also a two-piece so I can literally just pack it and go. It has not failed me so I have a hard time justifying anything more expensive.

Trevalas or Terez will handle smaller tuna no problem, they don't need to be 5"8 versions though.

Thanks for the input... I'll task my buddy about these.
