Newbie kayak fishing in La Jolla, need expert help

im fairly new to kayak fishing. Been going out on canyon lake and Perris bass fishing, doing pretty good. I have been wanting to go to the la jolla kelp beds. I have a Perception Pescador Angler 12 foot (the old Tarpon 120). Was wondering if this would hold up out there? I am planning on just throwing Big hammers, flukes and dropper looped squid chunks. Just rigged my yak with a FF too that works well so im pretty stoked. Was wondering if the snorkel/dive area by the caves is launchable? Or do I have to go from the surf? I have surf launched once in a tandem kayak but we had a guide pull us.

thanks in advance!

Launch at La Jolla Shores. It's fairly easy to launch, but I guess that's all relative to the person launching. Drive down Avenida La Playa until you are on the beach.

ya, those buoys out there are the lines for it, correct? beyond them its fair game?

also, what would be the most productive way of catching fish out right over the kelp beds? Im pretty new to saltwater, I usually stick to fresh water bassing or surf fishing at the beaches
