Yet Another FF question:
Since I'm waiting for Lowarnce to un-fuk themselvs with the HDS, my old school Eagle 168 has taken a dump. I need something ASAP in the mean time....
I was debating the PiranhaMax 190c or Lowrance Mark 5x Pro. The latter has had some bad reviews from BPS web-site. As you can tell from my choices, my budget is around 2 bills or less. Anyone with either that could provide some insight? Thanks! |

What's wrong with the hds it's a great unit? There's an issue with the mapping software but that's got nothing to do with the units. Hey Carlos lowrance guy if your reading this I'm still waiting to hear back from you regarding my software issue

Yup Greg's right your issue with the lowrance isn't really an issue More of a glitch, and if you don't buy the nautic insight you wont have a problem. I would not buy one unit with intentions of buying another, buy one get comfortable with it. Those elites look good too.

Thank's for the offer! I went to BPS today to get some touch-time, and decided on the elite-4x. I thought hard about the DSI model; but decided I don't really need 3D of structures, unless I coupled it with an HDS. But that's booku-bucks--which I don't have. This model is negative 44 in store . I just hope they don't have it back-ordered when I buy it online. As of now, they say it's in stock. If it's becomes back-ordered then I will take you up on your offer. |

If it is needed soon, I have an extra cuda you can borrow until you make up your mind. Plug and go with your old set-up.

I just bought the Lowrance Mark 4 FF/GPS and installed it yesterday. I like the size of it and the functionality. Now I need to reed the book so I know how to work it. Nice little device, and for $199 with 6 month pay, it's a good deal. As you can see in the image I used the Electrical Putty installation method. I love that installation.
