Hammerhead attack on kayaker...

Just saw on CBS 2 news that a kayaker was reported bitten by a hammerhead shark around Carrillo. He had to be airlifted.. No other details were provided except that.

Anybody else see the news report?

Found an article linked to it.

Guy is an idiot for hanging his legs out the yak. I saw two hammerhead yesterday and accidently hooked into one.

To say the guy is an idiot for putting his feet in the water makes you look like an idiot. Maybe he was cooling off his feet etc? I've been Kayakfishing Malibu for probably 14 years and I've never had anything nibble on my feet. Don't be a judgmental ahole. If anything you should feel sorry for the guy and hope he feels better.

The guy saw shark and then decides to put his feet in the water? Sounds dumb to me.

Do I feel bad for they guy yes. Thankfully it sounds like he is doing better.

You got one thing right I am an ahole, tight lines.

That guy was in the news this morning
He said that he was fishing for sharks
Posted pics of self holding sharks he loves
To do that ,so what do that makes him?

Ya, I believe he said he had this shark on his hook and it was kayak-side when it bit him.

From the news reports, this guy was an experienced kayaker/shark fisherman.

If he had a hammer kayak-side and had his foot in the water when he got bit, he didn't use good judgement. Sometimes experience brings on complacency. He will probably be a bit more careful in the future.

Hmm

Idk what happened but I do know that no "experienced" angler wud purposefully fish for a hammerhead.

Saw the interview. Best thing he said when asked about the "attack" was that he wasn't attacked, he had it on his line and the hh was just trying to get away. NO ATTACK on the sharks part. He took responsibility for it bitting him.

Thanks. The news used the ATTACK word just to inflame the story. Figures. He is lucky he didn't loose one of his piggy's. :stickyman:Hopefully he will be a bit more careful next time he brings one along side his kayak.
