I was using an 8' 30-60# Makaira jigstick for yoyo, but it was too heavy on the yak. Better on a boat with a rod like that I think. Super tiring and ungainly to use a heavy rod on the yak. You can use a 15-30/40# rod and be more comfortable winding on the yoyo I think and it'll have all the pulling power you could dream of on the kayak.

Perfect length yoyo/ dropper loop rod is 6'5" IMO.......like a Seeker 665 is my favorite.
