Redondo 11.11.17
Made it to the artificial reef for rockfish but nothing doing so headed out to the Palwan wreck for some bass and lings but again, nothing doing. Loaded up on macks and bonitas while i was there and headed back in along the beach for some halis but.....no takers. After 7 hrs without water, headed back in to Ruby's to re-hydrate and grab a big, fat, greasy burger. Found out the burger was free for veterans in honor of veterans day and all of a suden the burger tasted awesome! Launched again at 6pm with 3 hoops and didnt get my first keeper til 8 pm but after that, was averaging 4 shorts per pull and 1 keeper per set. Limited out on bugs along the outside of the wall but it was very hard work. Finished at a little after midnight after 16 hours and about 20 logged miles on the yak, according the my elite 7 ti. My first report, second time out on my 2017 outback, and first lobsters of the season. Lobster hooping on saturday, basketball hooping on sunday. Legs are fried!!! |

Alot of it was drifting and fighting against the drift is hard work. Bonitas are deceptively fast

I plan on going there again after work on friday. Not looking forward to the 2 hr drive though and the 1 hr and 10 minute drive coming back but luckily the Mcdonalds on 190th and Artesia is open 24 hrs to load up on coffee before driving home

I believe parking is usually 2 dollars an hr up to 20$ max. FYI posted sign on the small craft barge says that it will be removed after dec 17 for maintenance and repair.

Impressive
Now, that is hard core! Sounds like a great way to spend the afternoon and evening. Coming in, getting a burger and recharging is an awesome idea if the conditions cooperate.
Thank you for your service. |

Your enthusiasm comes thru....
That kind of enthusiasm has come and gone for us long ago. It's nice to see that your so fired up! Driving for hours and all day and all nighters are a thing of the past for us... were just interested in instant results now a days...and what's for lunch! But we still fish hard every week! Redondos a great place to fish as long as you can launch off of the dock...otherwise it's a real pain. You can catch fish there pretty much all year round as long as your reasonable in what you want to catch. If you know where to look you might be surprised what you can catch there. ...not sure it's worth a 2 hour drive though...that's INSANE!

That’s moto right there devil dog.
If you’re coming up from Pendleton, why not O-side, Dana Point or Long Beach? Save you a few hours. |

Yeah, my personal best happens to be a 27 lb halibut last by shear dumb luck more than skill but hey, "Even monkeys fall off trees"
