FYI: Proposed launch fees for commercial kayak rental companies @ LJ

Are non-commercial users next? We were targets for launch fees a couple of years ago. Effort was defeated, but best to be prepared should the City revisit such a proposal. Open question: How might this apply to actual and/or aspiring pro. kayak fishing guides?

The way it sounds it that the City wants to make money off of anyone making money by using the launch. Would this apply if you wanted to do Kayak tours of San Diego Harbor by launching out of Shelter Island? Or what about Kayak dealers that allow potential customers to test ride a kayak before they buy? Will the city want a cut of this income too? Just wondering.
