Lowrance mark 4 vs garmin echo 300

I'm at bass pro right now about to pull the trigger on a ff.

I originally came in for the garmin because it's on sale for 149, but the lowrance is 199 and it has GPS. I have a iPhone sonicould use gps for it till I buy a portable, but the gps right there combod with the ff seems like on less thing on the deck and a real convienent idea. This is my first ff and it doesn't seem color vs grey matter too much.

I'll go look at other stuff and hope someone chimes in

The mark 4 is a good unit. I would rather get a combo than worry about a seperate gps. It comes down to how bad you want a color screen, but I always prefer a gps system. Just my opinion, buy what you like.

I too just bought the Lowrance 4 combo for that reason. I was thinking of getting a cheaper FF but thought it would be nice to have the FF/GPS. Pull the trigger.

Also a color screen isn't going to make the fish bite any more than a BW screen.

I just ponied up for the Elite 4 Gold. Jesus, I oversold myself on that one, but what the hell, if I'm gonna go, might as well go in style.

went with the mark 4. just because when I'm drifting I like the idea of being able to see how fast I'm going and track the drift, and mark rockpiles and everything right there.

My first time transducer instal, think I'm going to goop a foam template on the inside of the hull, heat up a tube of goop (read in the innovations section it makes it more viscous and will help airbubble settle out) and put it in there.

I'm jazzed
