Offshore winds up there (Gaviota) can be pretty crazy and can come out of nowhere.

Hey atleast they found him! Bring a radio, cell phone, spare paddle etc. etc. And hopefully you won't spend 14 hrs at sea, lol.

Good point on the radio McLanea.

After purchasing my kayak, that was the next *investment* I made, before my fishfinder with GPS.

In my search for a radio, I found them new and as cheap as $50. Seems like good insurance in my book.

I purchased the rechargeable Lowrance, waterproof, floating GPS version....spendy, but worth it.
