Cabrillo harbor 11/4

me and a buddy decided to launch our kayaks out of cabrillo to test our new built bait tanks. lots of fog until 1pm, then it became pretty windy and we had to dodge all of the sail boats out there. Bait tanks worked out great and held a generous sized kayak scoop all day. I ended up with 2 short halibut and 1 short sandie. Buddy got 6 short halibut.

Good to hear that you made it out for fishing therapy and had some action. What is the cost of parking at Cabrillo these days?

parking a vehicle increased to $9, and you have to pay the parking attendant at the front of the gate before you can go in.

They didn't even ask how many hours I would be there. All they did was say $9.

That sucks! I used to fish there pretty regularly when you could pay for the hours you will be there.

If you go back, the trick with Cabrillo is to go early and be off the water by 11:00am. The winds kick up around noon and making it back to the dock can be tricky.
