LJ - Where can I park my truck and sleep for the night?

Hi All, I am going to fish LJ next month in my Outback. It will be my first time fishing this area. I will probably stay 1 or 2 nights. I am looking for a cheap, close spot to sleep. I was hoping to find a place I can park and sleep in the truck or next best, find a camp ground near by. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Where are you coming from? There not really any camp grounds around La Jolla.

Just a couple hours north. Wanted to hang around for 1 or 2 nights and maximize my fishing opportunity.

There’s neighborhoods near by you can probably just sleep in the truck and be quiet you probably won’t be bothered. There’s a KOA probably 20 minutes south of La Jolla that’s really nice. https://koa.com/campgrounds/san-diego/

I would try to crash a beach campsite like San Elijo, carlsbad, or silver strand. They take reservations way in advance, ask the ranger for cancellations.

Yeah I think if you just park on street here:

110 Camino Del Oro, La Jolla, CA 92037

You shouldn't have much trouble, especially if you have a YAK and fishing gear.

I have some further thoughts regarding transient rights vs. tax paying citizens but I will spare us all.

Maybe you could use one of the Park and Ride lots in Sorrento Valley that would be super close to La Jolla and they have restaurants nearby.

There are tons of homeless that park around and sleep all over pacific beach all the way up to lj. Just pull up and sleep on the street and I doubt you will have issues.

Thanks for the tips. I'll send a pic from jail if things go south.

I would stay at south shore park....

And boat launch across from fiesta island on SeaWorld drive about 3/4 of a mile east of SeaWorld. Rv's park all the time
Along south shore park way dr....I don't think the cops would tell you to move if you stayed in the boat launch parking lot, nice bathrooms and RV dumping clean out.
You would be 2 or 3 exists south of la Jolla,on mission bay, and under 10 minutes from Dana Landing you could stay there to excellent deli and tackle shop.
