#%$!@& La Jolla - 8/4

My dad and I went to the launch with the tandem. The surf today had very short intervals and apparently a very small window launch. We usually need some easy launch conditions for the tandem, but figured what the heck, we were already there.

After taking 3 decent sized waves, we flipped the tandem while still in the surf zone.

Lost my tackle box so ended up having to go back home since fishing woulda been kinda hard without any hooks/weights/or irons.

If anyone spots a small box of tackle, let me know, I will describe the contents. I know it's a long shot, and it's no big deal if lost for good, but might as well check.

Thanks Dennis.

Might be time I buy that aluminum skiff. Dad is mid 70s now and kayaking is getting tough for him. Too much lifting, paddling, and sitting in the same position. Not to mention his sense of balance is getting worse every year.

Know anyone selling?

Jeez, what time was that? I think I saw you guys at the launch (ivory revo) I dont know if that was pre or post flip, would of lent a hand if I would have realized. Surf was pretty gnarly this am and took my share to the face on the launch.

I will keep an eye out.

hey Paul,

Don't give up on your Dad just yet!!! Last time I had a garage
sale in the surf, it was just me and a stupid baby seal. At least
you are related to your partner. The pup followed me all day
during a bass tourney, making sure I first got skunked, then
got rolled...

We need to see you guys out there. Especially if it gets like it
was when I first met the both of you back in 2006!!

Thanks for the tip on the boats. I need the full package - so Steveooo, I will be keeping my eyes peeled!!

Yes, Whiz, that was us. I saw your launch -- smooth as silk and perfect timing. I should have taken the hint... when there are people SURFING at the boat launch, it's probably gonna be rough!
