He just hopes someone else's story is more dramatic than his so he doesn't feel like a wuss.

Yeah I wish I could talk about the jet ski tow but sadly it wasn't mine to tell... I did watch it which was hilarious now that everyone is safe.. Probably was not the best day to head out with a newbie. But I'm sure they learned a lot.

Tried to video tape it but only got the tail end of it..

On the darker side in 1994 I towed a 26ft power boat from the jettys in mission bay to Dana Landing fuel dock with a 15 Seda Viking, my 1 st kayak. Poor power boater could not believe a kayak could pull his baby that far but no one else was around to help him. He did not realise the incoming tide was doing most of the work.

I'll tell a story from years back but not from LJ. I was fishing back east in Sandy Hook Bay south of Manhattan and Staten Island. Not far from the Arthur Kill by the way, not water you want to be in for long unless you like glowing in the dark. A high speed ferry, catamaran hull, blew by about 3/4 -1 mile away. Didn't think anything of it, calm conditions, sun going down, little wind. Out of nowhere, several 5+ waves caught me sideways. The wake had built up as the energy hit the shoal I was fishing over. It was like a big hand picked me up and rolled me over. This was a Cobra FnD too. Lost a bunch of crap that wasn't leashed, and long story short I couldn't get back on. Sailboat came across me and assisted with reentry. It was my big lesson to A: improve my fitness and B: always practice self reentry and C: leash stuff you really like.

Man can't believe it's been a year already !!

That was THE worst swell I had seen at LJ ever.. Still can't believe how quick conditions changed from calm morning to all out hell by 11...

I believe after that day Cell128 retired his kayak and took up boating or knitting after the lobster boat rescued him..

Silbaugh buddy also retired from the ocean.. He had to be rescued by coast guard and at first they attempted to tie his kayak to the jet ski and tow him in but the comedy show was something to see as he literally went flying off the kayak as it twirled in the air.. Eventually he just hopped on the back of the jet ski and they dropped him off.. And Silbaugh eventually made it back as well.. On his own... 3 hours later.. Wishing he had a Hobie 😂

It was intense but I wasn't to worried as coast guard were on the water and above watching everyone.. Still a fun day with this crazy group..

Wait a minute...wait a minute....!

I didn't hear the ol' Silbaugh story.....kayak twirling in the air? No shit?

You want to retell this one from the top? Was he too embarrassed to tell this one?
