Yes most of us use a Sabiki rig. You can also buy bait from one of the bait barges if you launch in a harbor such as Newport or Dana Point. But often times they only have chovies or sardines and not mackerel so a lot of us just make bait ourselves. Sometimes you make bait in a few minutes and sometimes it can be more difficult and take awhile.

Dad from Bay st. Louis. Spent time there and learned to use a caste net. Grandpa made them by hand and still have one of them. Not legal in Socal.

i was in Pascgoula for 1 1/2. I was there for the PRECOM of the USS AMERICA.
