Spectra and spinning gear?

We used to do it with dawia spinners without spectra back in the 80's at the Texas tower - 60 miles off Point Pleasant N.J.
Lots of spooled reels.

I still have some of the old gear in my garage.

I'd say so! I was just out in Maine catching mid sized stripers on spinning gear with braid and light weight rods and reels. It was a hoot. Nothing like cow tuna, but fun none the less. They might be on to something. It is only a matter of time I think before we see more people throwing irons on spinning gear out here.

I never leave home without the Van Stahl (65#spectra to bimini twist to 40# floro/mono). Good caster with power, lots -o- fun...
