Books to learn?

Getting into fishing and am a total newb, well not really but just a recreational fisherman and used to have a boat I'd take out to Huntington flats and fish with live bait. That's it, so I've been reading as much hear to learn but not getting the info a new kayaker is looking for. i.e. where to launch in SoCal, what lures to use etc. Thanks.

Welcome to the addiction, hopefully you're single or else your not going to want the old lady to know how much your spending and losing out there in the surf zone hehe, but honestly your best bet you have found..

The guys on and that frequent this site have been doing it and reporting for ages... Use the Search Function in the top right corner of the page, and search through Allll the past forum posts; it will be near impossible to stumble upon a topic that will not help you at one time or another (;

As said many times before, test whichever kayak you play to buy first, OEX the guys that sponsor this site have an awesome selection.. Also, you're going to want to do a calm lake or Harbor/Bay launch for your first time and practice re-entry, or take your Yak out to do some Kayak Surfing first with no gear, just Paddle, Seat and PFD so you can get the feel of your yak... Never know when your gonna flip and have to rely on only yourself to get back up straight...

Tight lines and good luck out there
