Thats a pretty ambitious schedule there...!

Hopefully everybody can come together again next year to make it happen.

I am a newbie to kayak fishing but I own my own kayak (thanks OEX!) and fishing gear. I am also a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and I would like to know more about HOW. For instance, what happens at the events dated above? Thank you for any information.

Welcome and welcome to the addiction. HOW is a non profit national organization that takes disabled vets out kayak fishing. At our events we show up at the venue with the help of some very great volunteers to help set up and to mentor the Vets on the water. Later, we will provide lunch, clean up, and store the equipment. If you are interested in helping, we are always looking for more volunteers to help with the events. You can check us out on our facebook page Hero's on the Water Southern Ca. Our event in April is actually our fundraising event to help fund us for the year. It is a fishing tournament at the OEX on Mission Bay. It is a $25 buy in and everyone in a kayak is welcome. Check it out under general discussions under Mission Bay Classic. Hope to see you there and answer any questions you may have. Mike

Thank you Mike! I am also disabled however most-ish days I can do the launching, lifting, paddling (rise above the pain!). I would like to take advantage of your program and events as well as volunteer, once I have been to an event and get a feel for it. How do I sign up to be a member? here is my number if it makes it easier to communicate 3107703412

So ask your boss what he (or she) has against helping and supporting our disabled Vets. Your boss should be proud to let you volunteer AND to pay you for going. Thanks and catch you next time. Mike
