Had a late start at around 9 got out of the reserve and bait was extremely easy. Good sized healthy greenbacks worked in a 100-150 ft of water for a while but didn’t mark anything went over to the canyon edge and ram into a kelp paddy with a few hundo sardines and a baby mola mola which I’ve never seen before so to bad there was no fish on it. Slow day didn’t see very many people hookup.

I agree, it was a slow day. I launched just before 9, made four Spanish and one Greenback, then trolled a 30’ diving nomad while looking for squid meter marks. I saw maybe two decent fish spots on the meter in 75’ to 100’ of water (one bottom and one mid column); couldn’t find squid and didn’t have a yo-yo ready for fish drops. Back on the beach at 12:30.

Haven't launched yet this year, but that seems to be the key is the Yoyo.. Buddies last video shows him dropping on the marks in that depth and getting smashed instantly on the retrieve then saying, "yeah screw live bait," may not be much out there right now but the ones that do want to play are seeing that jig drop down right in front of them

Heard a skiff hooked up on the radio but I think there’s so much bait in the water the fish aren’t as easy to find
