Can a kayak angler win WON's new halibut derby? I think so.

WON is putting on a brand new halibut derby. It costs only $25 and lasts the entire month of May. I think a kayak angler can take this thing.

Here's why. Anglers can fish when, where and however they like, as long as they weigh in at Dana Wharf Sportfishing. The tourney boundaries run from Pt Conception to the Mexican border.

I know a lot of kayak anglers who specialize in halibut. For guys who routinely catch big ones, this could be your chance to cash in. Well, not literally - there's no money at stake, but lots of good prizes. More info here: http://www.wonews.com/california-out...but-Derby.aspx

I'd really like to see kayak anglers at the top of the standings when this thing is done. I think its a definite possiblity. So if you target halibut anyway, best of luck.
