I feel your childish excitement too, just watching your video. That's wonderful. Seems your friend wanted to snuggle.
I always feel happy and in awe of the beauty of nature when whales or porpoises pass near my kayak. Sharks, not so much.

I think I saw you guys out there around 3pm. Heard you hooting and hollering and at first thought you'd hooked up, then saw your friend hanging around for what seemed like forever and eventually heard you guys rev-up and head south at a high rate of speed.
Truly unbelievable. Glad he didn't decide to do the same to my Revo. |

That's cool...I might not have been so overjoyed with that in a Kayak though.

Yea! We saw a HUUUUUUUGE gray off in the distance. Actually three or four but none of them were social whatsoever. Kept a good distance after that haha. We had a grey blow up in us in kayaks three or four years ago. Nothing will humble you faster!

That's incredible, the video and editing are awesome. I love it when those huge whales come by close. That would be a lot closer than I'm used to, being at least 25 feet away is good. Just under would defitely make me feel uneasy after a while.

Looks like one of the whales from San Ignacio lagoon - all the friendliest whales come from there. I'll be back down March 8th to visit them...
I usually have to hold my wife by the pants to keep her from just climbing on: Gonna be a fun trip... Last edited by Baja_Traveler; 01-31-2018 at 07:52 PM. |

That's incredible! My only close experience was a grey whale circling my skiff 50ft swimming closer and closer, until it passed underneath my boat side ways with it's giant eyeball staring up at me. Its size was unfathomable, GIGANTIC. My video didn't come out very well, but I also had child like comments of excitement.
