New to the sport, just need some general info

Im new to the sport and just purchased a MInix at the fred hall show, i've been fishing my whole life, just never from a kayak (but now i will). I just wanted to see if there are any locals around the huntington area that could give me a few pointers, or maybe take me on a local trip . I dont mind driving down to la jolla, i just would like to know what all to have for targeting halibut, wsb, and yellows

so far i have my rods of course, the yak mini x two rod holders, bait tank, fish finder, paddle and seat, and life vest. I want to try around alamitos bay for some halibut, but i dont know where to make bait.

Any responses are appreciated,

Nick
