NP Memorial Weekend

Made it out Saturday and Monday. Found some spots with smaller schooling reds (maybe sunsets?) between 170-250' of water.

Squid and plastics made for easy hook ups on pretty much any rig that got it to the bottom on Saturday. Monday the bite was wfo they even hit a piece of teflon bar I threw a hook into and scribbled on with marker lol.

One of sandies I caught spit up a whole shrimp head and all, it was so fresh it looked like it might have been still been alive but it wasn't. The reds were also spitting up these nasty tube shaped creatures that were probably 1/4-1/2" in diameter and had little bumps all over them. colors were varied from orange to clear all of which pretty transparent. Looked like some kind of sea cucumbers. No idea. saved a few of the spit up ones to use for bait.

Tight lines fellas

I had day last Nov where every rockfish I caught was spitting those up. Someone from Scripps said they're pyrosomes.

I saved them for next trip out. I'm definitely going to use them.
