No luck for me today. Made bait at the pier-slowly, until first light then
moved out off the end of the pier and greenbacks and dines wide open.
Met up with Ken . We both were going north and split up after a while and I don't know how he ended up. I moved to the south and he went far north-later I passed him going south as for I was heading north. I made it as far as Table Rock I'll bet he went further. The red tide kind of moved in and out. By the end of the day it was clearer. Pretty red most of Blacks---I pulled on a shark for a while so I think I remember how to do it. I was fishing north of the pier about 1/2 mile and saw a YT boil-pretty big fish and threw some iron right in the middle and nothing even bumped blue and white--My deep greenback took off hard and took my attention away from the strike-out on iron. The bait stuck-pretty good sized sand bass released. Soon after I saw the YT school a good sized YT hooked and much later caught from the tandem further north. I shall return.

Hey Dave, I talked to you for a few min in front of blacks, and all I ended up with were sharks also. I tryied in close and deeper dragging sardines on the bottom. Everytime I would get in closer to the breakers I would get picked up by guitars and leopards, and deeper i did not get bit at all. I fished there sat too, and ended up with a couple of sharks. I am starting to wonder if i am gonna ever pick up a halibut there....good talkin to ya.

LJ Norte

Nelz-Ken,

We went way north and the yellows were there briefly. I'd say I saw the yellows closer to the pier than Del Mar. I hope that helps. I was around some floating kelp stringers and sardines. The water was clear in that spot wherever it was and most of the rest of Blacks was brown. As you know it changes daily---Are you going out this week or is that a dumb question?

Hey Ken, in Mexico we call those fish "makes great ceviche" 'cause thats
what the pangeros always say when you release one.

ken,
did you have your radio off again?

My son and i were out in our Whaler for the first time fishing and i tried to raise you,, no answer. Saw brad pulling on a fish near the kelp,, same thing , no radio on. I did manage to raise Todd and randy after he got his Big Yellar. (nice one randy).
For a while i thought both of my radios weren't working or that the "Kayak Channel "had been moved

slow fishing but great to be out on the water with my son again,, he loved it at LJ.

Leave my little lizard fish alone! That's wild on the trigger. They are tasty, at least the ones on the east coast were. Looks like I'll be out Tues AM. May have to try going north for real.

i do want to venture out to the other spots, especially how the trend at the kelp has been(slow mornings, no current early)

What's up with that trigger?
Local in our waters?
I love seeing different fish. Great job capturing the photos.
