Thresher Video

A video i put together of last weeks thresher bite.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1dWqUYzuq8

shark went 89 pounds after i hung him up and a mackerel dropped out of his gut along with being bled, so i'm gunna call him 90 pounds!

saw lots of guys hook up early that morning. lots of tails slapping baits but never saw any jumpers.

watched 3 guys within 200 yards of me all get hooked up at once. That was cool. but then they got towed miles away. (one of which was the 200+ pounder that m7vasque's brother nailed. I wish I had video of you on your sleigh ride. you were moving fast!)

The shark had someone elses hook in its mouth, no line. not surprised, everyone was getting cut off left and right.

I gotta thank my Dad for showing up at the filet stand to take photos. And buddies Ryan and Alex for running down to La Jolla Shores and the filet station to help take photos and help process the fish. It was a major help.

tight lines guys

that yellowtail might have been the only reason why I had a thresher bite...
i was bleeding him out 5 min before the thresher hit. it might have brought him in, i dunno?

and yeah, tunaseeker, that's a big smile. That thresher is my biggest fish on a kayak, biggest fish on rod n reel, and biggest fish ever! STOKED!!!!

Yeah it was a good BBQ. Went from a plan of just 6 of us to 20+ over the afternoon. Had plenty of food luckily. Just kept pulling fish out of the freeze.

Im heading out tomorrow. Gunna try and get some friends hooked up on some yellows. We'll see how they do. Hope to see some of you guys out there.
