40 pound Club
40 Pound Club The "Clubs" pertain to yellowtail, halibut and white seabass. I will start a thread for 30, 50, 60 and this 40 pound Club. If you have been fortunate enough to reach this level, post em up! No certified scale necessary, post the photos, tell the story if you like. Inspire the rest of us. releasing 40lb "schoolies"
Not sure if this one counts cause I didn't weigh or measure it before it was released......but it did take an estimated 10lb crap just before the pic so it could have been over 50!!!
And because this is 2011 and still photos are "sooo 2010", I got it all on HD video.....cameo appearances by Kevin "The KID", Eric "deepdvr", and Ryan "RK"....thanks to kevin for the photos. <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xWD8yeXJEhM" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="640"></iframe> Some more info about that day are in the youtube decription under the video. Good Times! |

40lbs X 2=80lbs.....is there an 80lb club?
$400 because I lost two full setups. One ended up washing up on the beach about 45minutes later so the $400 was more like $150

41lbs on the beach, 44lbs on my scale at home. Being a true fisherman, I call it 44 "ish"
Very fun day with multiple double hooks ups all around. |

49# PB WSB
Certified at Dana Landing. Caught 4/6/2010 on a plastic tube squid on a lead head with a shredded sardine. It's hard to imagine how much I've learned in the last year. I caught this 'back' when I knew nothing, mid-column, near none of the usual areas, midday. It was a total fluke.

Over forty, January fish, my fifth trip to La Jolla, caught in the evening. Fished all day for it, picked up one around thirty early that morning as well. |
