I really dont have a lot of experience in the ocean, but ive got on a few 1/2 days. If you pick up sardines from the bait barge, you can catch a lot of calicos. Ive done it, its fun. Im used to fishing freshwater, so a 6 or 7 fish day is awesome if they have any weight. But, just flyline sardines in the kelp and youll pull calicos all day, at least it was when we went.
Otherwise, jigs with squid, or just squid dropped to the bottom. Should get picked up on the way down, otherwise, bounce and then reel it up and try again. Keep moving. But, yeah, I really want a WSB, so hopefully ill get out there soon. |
