Oil Rigs In Santa Barbra Question
Always seems like it would be fun fishing but I know it's over 2 miles out but how far out is it? Anyone every try to make it? if so how was the fishing?!

The rigs at Huntington flats for me is about 7 miles 1 way, in the water by 4am out by 6pm, paddled all day, this year I will be peddling.

Santa barbara rigs out a ways approx 3-5 but out of Channel Islands, first rig is Gina about 1.5 out

Seven miles out I'll take what I can get. Usually sandbass, reds sheeps and various rockfish. Planning on a early june trip to the flats, launching from The south end of dog beach gotta have a buddy to watch the gear as I go park.

I fished the Huntington flats oil rigs last year from my friends boat. We were drifting and casting towards the rigs and caught a lot calocos and sand bass. but as we were going to the next rig the sheriff was giving another boater for fishing near the rigs. their is a sign that says to stay 300' away.
