Its not La Jolla, but its the same feeling

Today, is a day that i will never forget.

I woke up this morning at 4am and said I am ready for another epic day at the water. Left the House at 4:30am and arrived at the secret location, Mountain of Sin and repentance, by 5:30am. I met with Joe and crossed the gate of agitation. Down to the mountain of sin we went, we were all pumped up to fish this area because the past few days people were coming out with HUGE smiles. Laughing

We launched into what seemed to be a glassy ocean with no current and .5 foot waves. Razz

We made bait and fished under the birds for nada, other kayakers came and so did the sport fishing boat, but as they came and so they went. There was NO ACTION...

By 11am is was just Joe and I for what it seemed for miles. Joe said there is no action and no current.

I told Joe. WE are prepared. We have the bait with the jigs.rigs now we just need the fish.

No fish.

So i sat there in my kayak trolling around for anything, and i started to pray for some fish. I ask our creator for a nice WSB so it could feed our family.

Well...

...........

...............

I looked down at my Fish Finder and I saw this arch getting closer to my bait.

BOOOM... HE swallowed it and ran.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

for a good 2 mins then i pumped and reeled 1 one time

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

he left again for a couple more mins he was so strong he was just peeling line.

I tighten the drag as soon as she stopped and reeled......

then she pulled so i loosed the drag and BOOOM SHe Flew with the line in her mouth

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I reeled some more, but she took off again....

20 ft more in the water i was going deeper and deeper.

she stopped

Tightened up the drag and REeled, she pulled, peeled some more line

did this many times!!!!

I Finally saw her....

I started screamming like a little boy getting a new nintendo....

just like this'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9LSt...eature=related

ITS A HALIBUT!!!!! ITS SO BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got her up to the surface. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!

I MUST BE DREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AM I DREAMING!!!!!

ITS A HUGE WSB!!!

Its belly up, dead tired.....

I pull out my gaff stick and say to the gaff, Baby this is your first time....

Loosened the drag in case the fish tries to make a run for it...

GAFFED HER right in my lap....

Thank the Maker i said...

I was so joyed i grabbed my phone to take a picture and the WSB tail almost knocked it off my hand so i decided to it later....

So i put my game clip on her and put her in the front hatch and suddenly my kayak felt much much more heavier..... splashed some water on my new baby.....

I was in heaven.... Called my wife and told her to go to the market and pick up some stuff and take it to your mother in laws. BECAUSE WE ARE HAVING A FEAST!!!!!!!!!

tried to get a fish for Joe, but he decided to call it a day. So we went in and of course i was too happy to count the waves and went in and a wave got me from behind and tossed me over... but i didn't lose anything because everything was tied off.... plus the water felt nice and cool.

So we climbed back up the mountain of repentance. I was sweating bullets. Thank you Joe for helping me carry the blue beast. I hope your back doesn't hurt to much.

Great Day

This fish is so heavy!!! and I am so sore from climbing back up the mountain of repantance.

Had my mother in law and close friend scale the fish...

My Forchner Knife came in and i put it to good use. BEST KNIFE EVER!!!

ANd right into the Grill...

EPIC DAY!!!

Frank, it was a week ago when we talked about our day coming, little did we know both you and I would finally hook up on the same weekend but miles apart. About the only thing I have going now is that mine is bigger than yours and Matts. Congrats, buddy!!

that's awesome frank, congrats. too bad that matt and i weren't with you to hear that "little boy scream" it must have been a great feast. a little jealous that you're MIL (mother in law) helped you clean up your fish. that's pretty cool.

Congrats on a very nice fish!
As with George, I've followed your posts and frustrations for a while now.
And to think, you didn't have to drive all the way down to LJ to score this fish!!!
