Go Pro Competition from Shimano?

Shimano looks like they want to battle with Go Pro.

Cameras

I just got this in the mail today...It's a Water Wolf camera from Okuma.

Looks like it should be fun....I can't wait for this weather to clear so I can try it.

I think these guys are a much closer competitor to Go Pro on cost. I've read plenty of reviews but am waiting the hear of any other fisherman have given them a try.

sjcam

The SJ cam is very affordable but this new Water Wolf is waterproof to 300' deep...and it's set up to troll or fish with, as part of its standard set-up.
I'll post up a review and some video once I get it in the water.

Gopros are over kill and battery life sucks.for what we need they just aren't good I'm getting the JVC camcorder when the price drops a little more or something similar but definitely not going the gopro way I can't see myself messing with battery's all day long on the water..with 4 hours of battery life and 16ft of waterproofness I think this thing will make a great kayak fishing camera http://www.amazon.com/JVC-Everio-GZ-.../dp/B00JD44CD0

I like the idea of a GoPro but I hate that stupid fish-eye distorted lens. The videos look fine but the curved images of everything take away a bit from the videos. I know some other cameras have the same type of wide angle lens system but some cheaper digital cameras can shoot better video without the distortion IMO.

This one looks good and the battery apparently lasts twice as long as the Go Pro but it is only splash proof whatever that means.
