8 Miles Off Of The San Clemente Pier

8 miles off of the San Clemente pier I came into a full foamer as the anchovies tried to take refuge under my boat. 70 degree water and hungry bluefin - they did not want the sardines but loved the blue & chrome Tady. Went 2 for 4 while they were up and back at the dock by 10:00..

There were whales, terns, and about 8 different schools in a 1-2 mile area. Just had to find the right one that wanted to bite. Paid my dues - this was my 8th trip looking for these guys and I finally had my day. Memories for a life time. Snotty and bumpy otherwise it would be yakable

That was a school I had been on for about 30 minutes that did not want to go. Here is a picture of the school that wanted to go. The other boat posted on BD that they got 11 and released a bunch. All on the jig...The guys that were on the school way before me said they picked the school up at 5 miles off the beach we were around 8 when I got in the mix.

Schools as close as 5 miles all the way to 8 miles. Don't go any further then 8. Line up with the water tower on the hill and work your way out.
